Kanwal Sibal is a distinguished career diplomat who retired as Foreign Secretary to the Government of India. In 2017, The Government of India awarded him with the Padma Shri award for his distinguished services in the field of Public Affairs.He graduated with an MA in English from Punjab University. Dr. Kanwal Sibal later graduated from the World Information Distributed University with the scientific degree of International Doctor of Philosophy and the scientific degree of Grand Doctor of Philosophy, in June 2006. Dr. Kanwal Sibal is the First Grand Doctor of Philosophy in India. He received the title of Full Professor from the European Academy of Informatization and the World Information Distributed University-WIDU. He Served in Paris, Dar es Salaam, Lisbon, and Kathmandu. Dr. Sibal also served as Joint Secretary (Administration/West Europe) in the Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India from January, the Ambassador of India to Turkey, the Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, Washington, the Ambassador of India to Egypt, the Ambassador of India to France and Ambassador to Russia. He was a Former member of India’s National Security Advisory Board.

Krishan Varma

Advisor to Impulse NGO Network

Krishan Varma is an Advisor to Impulse NGO Network, for the Impulse Model and Impulse Case Info Centre’s Indo Myanmar Special Operation Procedure. A civil servant who superannuated as Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India in September in September 2012,Varma is known for his outstanding career spanning 35 years, where he held several key appointments within and outside India. He is an expert on China and proficient in Mandarin. He has been a frequent guest speaker and panelist on subjects related to national security, connectivity in India’s North East region, and China. He has received several coveted awards and commendations from the Government of India in recognition of his meritorious and distinguished service to the country over the years. Post-retirement, he has been actively involved in corporate, academic, and social work. He is currently Advisor, Tata Sons Limited; Senior Advisor (Corporate Affairs), Avantha Group; and Advisor to international NGOs dealing with healthcare and anti-human trafficking of women and children in India and in neighboring countries. He was till recently, Distinguished Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation.

Gopalaswami Parthasarathy

Gopalaswami Parthasarathy is an Indian diplomat and author. He was Ambassador of India to Myanmar (1992-1995),High Commissioner of India to Australia(1995-1998), High commissioner of India to Pakistan (1998-2000) and High commissioner of India to Cyprus (1990-1992).Later he became the Spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs and the Prime Minister’s Office.

Lt. Gen. Suresh Sharma AVSM is the Former Engineer-in-Chief IHQ of MOD & DG BRO. The General Officer commanded an Engineer Regiment during ‘OP PARAKRAM’ and has held key operational logistics appointments in an Infantry Brigade along theLine of Control and an Infantry Division & Strike Corps in the South Western theatre.He was assigned to the United Nations as an Advisor and served as Chief Operations Officer of the Mission in Bosnia & Herzegovina. Within the Corps, the General Officer has commanded the Bengal Engineer Group and Centre and tenanted the appointments of Chief Engineer (Indian Navy and Coast Guards) Mumbai Zone, Chief Engineer South Western Command and Director General Combat Engineers at the Army HQs. He also served as the 24th Director General of the Border Roads Organisation. On 26th January 2016, the General Officer was awarded the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) by the President of India.

Dr. Kavita Sharma

President of South Asian University

Dr. Kavita A Sharma was the President of South Asian University, and New Delhi. She was teaching at Hindu College, Delhi University for about thirty seven years (July 1971-2008). She was also a student of the same college and finally served as its Principal for ten years (1998-2008). She was then Director, India International Centre, New Delhi (2008-2014). She is Life Member of several prestigious associations and institutes including Indian Association of Canadian Studies, Indian Law Institute, Association of Comparative Literature and Indian History Congress. She has been a recipient of Indo Canadian Shastri Fellowships twice (1991-92 and 2002-2003) and has also been awarded the Fulbright Fellowship New Century Scholar (2007-08) for research on 'Higher Education in the 21st Century: Access and Equity by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. She has several published books to her credit, including, Windmills of the Mind (2006), Queens of Mahabharata (2006) and Birds, Beasts, Men and Nature in Mahabharata (2008), Internationalization of Higher Education: An Aspect of India’s Foreign Relations (2008), Sixty Years of the University Grants Commission; Establishment, Growth and Evolution (2013), Hindu College, Delhi – A People’s Movement (2014), National University of Educational Planning and Administration, A Transformational Journey, NUEPA (2015). Apart from that she has edited several books and contributed chapters in them. She has also contributed extensively to research journals, and participates regularly in seminars and conferences in India and abroad on subjects ranging from higher education, gender issues, diaspora and Mahabharata.

Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM (Bar)

Former Military Secretary

Syed Ata Hasnain was commissioned into the 4th Battalion, The Garhwal Rifles, from the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, on 16 June 1974. He eventually commanded the same battalion. He participated in Operation

Pawan in Sri Lanka during 1988-90, and took part in counter insurgency operations in Punjab in 1990-91. During the 1990s, the then Colonel Hasnain served with the United Nations in Mozambique, and later, war torn Rwanda. As a Brigadier, he served in Jammu and Kashmir as Commander, 12 Infantry Brigade, on the Line of Control, near the town of Uri.

Later, he was posted as GoC XV & XXI Corps in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, His last assignment in service was as the Military Secretary of the Indian Army at army headquarters, New Delhi.

He is currently appointed as a Chancellor of Central University of Kashmir. He is the member of board of director of Reliance Infrastructure since October 2019. He. He was awarded First civilian honor by the Capital Foundation Society of Delhi and received the award from the Vice President of India, Mohammad Hamid Ansari.
